Who Accepts Service
When you deliver a writ or garnishment, an authorized CSC employee accepts the documents at the front counter. These employees are listed on CSC’s Form 1505 with the California Secretary of State and are legally authorized to accept service of process on behalf of CSC.
What Are Writs and Garnishments?
A writ of execution orders the enforcement of a court judgment.
A wage or bank garnishment requires an employer or financial institution to withhold funds to satisfy a judgment.
Proper service through CSC ensures that the business or institution is legally notified and required to comply.
Proof of Service
After serving your writ or garnishment at CSC, you’ll receive a completed Proof of Service that includes:
The name of the CSC employee who accepted the papers
The date and time of service
My signature and declaration under penalty of perjury
This document can then be filed with the court to confirm valid service.
